I was born and brought up in the Scottish highlands where I grew up in isolated rural areas.

 Educated in Dingwall Academy, then Tain Royal Academy where my interest in art was really encouraged, I secured a place at Gray's school of Art in Aberdeen where I graduated from in 1990. I studied under Alexander Fraser, Gordon Bryce, Joyce Cairns and Frank Convery.

I am based in Gairloch where I take my inspiration from the land, sea, air and light.

I have a permanent studio in my own home where I have both my art and picture framing business.

I am a member of Highlands Open Studios 2007, 2008  ,An Talla Solais gallery in Ullapool and Artists Universal.
